I disagree that ALL players below 49% are bad. However, I can agree that majority of the players below 49%(meaning 48.99% below and yes, i get the feeling i have to mention this) are bad. But this point should only apply to players who have more than 700 games.
While it is true that there are decent skilled players below 49% w/ 700games played, It isn't very common. Those "Below 49% but skilled" are very very few, I don't think they should dictate how the majority of "below 49%" should be perceived.
I think there are heaps of players that are fairly decent but rage and think the game is over really easily and throw away many games that they could have won. There have been many times where, after a lost game thrown by some rager (who annoyingly was probably better than me), I've checked their profiles on Dotabuff and they've turned out to be below 49%. I think sub-50 (or 49 if you like) percent players are more correlated with propensity to flame than any lack of skill.
@Done Some Ham I feel your pain bro. There was a period where I was using this account to coach, and it really took a toll on my win rate. It's quite tempting to just permanently jump to a smurf, but the lessons learnt in working your way up is what makes staying worth it.

I also have 73 FRIENDLY commends without asking which in my opinion, counts for a lot more than win rate.
