So there are no "official" numbers right ?

correct. nothing official for ranked. and as much as Relentless wants the ranked distribution to be almost exactly the same, I would bet a lot of money that it is significantly different

Anyone managed to get 4k+ MMR on a smurf account? i.e. What is the quickest you can get up the ladder?

Not true, if anything more higher level players will do ranked and leser players not. So the MMRs in ranked will come down over time for many, while unranked ratings will increase do to the loss of the better players. The top players will remain so, but all those below will slowly curve down to the median average of the pool.

IE. say top 50% go play ranked and bottom 50% do not. The system is based on winrate pretty much only. So of the top 50%, the 75% bracket now becomes the 50% bracket of ranked. While the bottom 25% becomes the 50% of unranked. This isnt whats happening, just an example to illustrate the new spreads.

my friend got 5.4k solo and 5.7k party with 60% winrate, took him 130 matches to reach level 13

from what I have seen the easiest way to have a high MM smurf is to stack(5man) alot on the smurf WITH high MM teammates(this is the most important part) you will most likely have similar MM to them at the end

              FlipFlop

my winrate 57%, but i only get 4k after calibrated. Then i playeed 30-50 games, now my solo rank 4,7k. party rank 4,6k. Still decent games and im enjoying it.

I'd say in the low 3s is considered by most average skill level, even though it's not average rating. Because most of the sub 3k players aren't really trying, they pick "fun" heroes just to dick around, they don't play to win, they don't stack, they rage quit, they only play a game here and there never really improving, etc. If you actually try hard and are of average skill I think you'll end up in the low 3s without much trouble.

And I would say dota buff forum readers are in the high 3s on average but the ones who brag in the mmr threads are usually high 4s and 5s.

It is always awkward hearing the people who brag about their MM complain about how fucking horrible the people at his MM are.

@silencewillfall - mmr's should be static for anyone at the proper mmr, and anyone who moves is simply moving to their true rating. Your idea that mmrs will come down in ranked is not true - why would that happen? people are still playing against others the the same mmr.

What you said at the end of you post - that someone in the 75th percentile before is now in the 50th percentile of ranked proved my point exactly. I think you kinda contradicted youself. If your ranked rating is in the 90% according to the valve post, you are actually not better than 90% of players in ranked matchmaking. A large portion of the 90% of those players are and will remain unranked. You are still better than them according to valve, but in terms of average rating and compared to other ranked MM players, you are definitely not in the 90th percentile

The average of the top portion of a population MUST be higher than the average of the whole population. FACT.

The only way the ranked average would be the same is if 100% of unranked players played rmm, or the same percentage of players at every skill level played rmm. I highly doubt as high of a portion of 1-2k players play rmm than 4-5k players.
