Wheres the love for Panda? in General Discussion

Dude seems to never get picked, at least not around the 4000-4500 MMR level. I literally cannot remember the last time I played with a Brewmaster.

He's a good semi-carry, an anti-carry, a tank, utility monster and an initiator... WHERES THE LOVE?

With Aghs, he has like 10 spells to use, thats Invoker level!

He isn't picked because there are other heros that are easier to play and more powerful. He is mostly just an anti-carry, other than that he really has nothing else other than being hard to kill.

      Hopeless

Because he doesn't fit the meta anymore, and his buffs are really mid-late game buffs revolving around an aghs purchase.

        Wink

hes needs buffs. lots of them.

          nami

Thats like saying Invoker is just a caster. Just stop for a moment and try to consider it more.

He has two slows, he has two blind spells, he has a stun, he has a steroid skill, he has a free euls, he has a AoE purge spell, he has immolation, two pandas move at 522 ms for chasing, he has that ultimate that lets him join fights even when he's reduced to 10% hp.

You know heroes who have this many capabilities suffer from one thing; stat gain. Think Ember Spirit, guy has great spells but his low stat gain holds him back later on. Panda has ABOVE AVERAGE stat gain. People also need to stop looking down on Panda's auto attack power.

His greatest weakness is his laning phase (competitive gaming-wise) which made him impossible to use during the 3-1-1 meta so it makes me surprised with heroes like Tidehunter going mid or Juggernaut, that Brew-chan isn't at least picked situationally.

              He's hard to play...

When you put it that way........... I guess its true nobody really wants to invest time practising a hero that everyone insists isn't very good.

                Pilot

His ultimate has a long cool down, and if the opponent bait that out in a push, you basically lose your biggest advantage with the hero (in my opinion). I'm sure he can fit the mid role now and then, but I think his gank potential is severely limited without farm and such.

He is extremely dependent on his ult and has severe mana issues. I like playing brew but there are better hero choices. He doesn't carry well and for initiation slardar, centuar, axe, bristle are all better. For anti carry troll warlord and doom are better. There's just better options.

I think he needs two buffs, one make drunken haze able to target ground or player like earthshakers fissure. Then you could better nail a bunch of enemies with it. Two reduce his ult cooldown by 40 seconds a level. I think the ult shouldn't cost mana either but that might be a little op.

Brewmaster takes great effort and game knowledge to be played effectivly! I am 5k+ and i do not see him played either beside myself! I mostly play him as offlane if you are interested.
To get back to the difficulty, you basically have to perform as many actions with ur ultimate as possible and due to the druation of the ultimate you dont get consistent training but atleadt every 2 min some training (if u would use ulti consistently!) but to be hobest furing a real game you maybe get to toy around wirh ultimate around 2 minutes or lower which is a very small portion of the game and therefor it takes more effort to train it.

Does not really need a buff and even a little can causr this hero to be borderline op

To refer to other posters, he already a cd reduction of 40 secs and it alteady had mayor inpact on the hero in addition to the blink changes.
                        If
Brewmaster at lvl 6 and 7 has exsctly the mana to fo his clap and ultimate so i dont see a manaproblem. You are not required to be able to clap every wave or for last hits and magic stick is the item which makes almost every hero habe no mana problems.

You cannot replace one hero with another and think one will perform better at one task and all the other tasks atleadt equally.

                          Holy shit arka, that grammar.
And yes, no one plays panda. I only do it when i random the hero.

                          PaintItBlack

make his aghs upgrade into his normal ult then we are set

Yeah but you don't always get to perfectly pick and choose your team fights, if he has even a small amount of mana missing he might not be able to ult. Or heaven forbid if other team has a stun and a diffusal then it's gg.

The biggest problem I seem to have though is positioning the spirits in time to spam all their abilities. It's pretty easy to rock stun someone and eul's someone else while keeping all there on a target, it's really hard though to get the earth close enough to do the earthslam thingy with aghs upgrade while also having all your spirits auto attack targets.

Totentanz to The King: M ...

His late game sucks. You could have a hero going mid who is both better at laning and have a way better late game. Also as a mid, he can't really gank without a proper rune. And if you make him a carry you are risking a lot, because he won't do shit late game.

                                Dire Wolf

I wouldn't mid him, he's not a good ganker without blink, he's not a good pusher so rushing level 6 doesn't make sense. Yes his ult is good but it's for utility in team fights, it's not like DP or DK who will push a tower with it or pudge or bloodseeker who will gank with it, so what's the point of rushing him to 6? I think he works best off lane with another disabler so you can try to score some kills. If you get some mana pots on him his Q plus another disable/nuke can do ok. You want him to be like a 3 spot, not one of your carries.

Panda is actually an OP hero imo. Just that no one picks him in pub because his skill cap is quite high and its not a popularized pick.

Only reason i can think of as to why Panda isnt picked in CM is

                                    1. Blink, Clap, split initiation isn't instant
                                    2. Hard to draft around Panda (idk..)
