"I'm relatively new to dota2, can someone shed some light on why I have such a low mmr" Dude you said it yourself.
"i tend to favor supporting" You have like 34 support hero games out of 238, just saying as a offtopic. The reason why you have low MMR is that you are bad
Making a new account thinking you'd have a better mmr? Sorry but you have "smurf" in your name.
Play w/ people who you can learn from if you want higher mmr.
How low is your MMR Smurfy710? Compared to the people that post here your rating might be low but that is because the average rating here is quite high, maybe 3000ish. The real average rating might be somewhere around 2300.
60% winrate at 238 games, of which most seem to be solo queue? pretty good for a 'new player', u're definately top 5 maybe even top 1%.
problem is that mmr is based on wins over losses instead of winrate thus heavily favouring players with many games. theres no way u gonna get high mmr after calibration phase with only 50 wins over losses, usually u need at least 100 or 150 wins over losses.
1. Im new to dota2, not dota
2. Solo is approx 2900 and party is approx 2800, I do tend to party with my friends who are... below average players
I was more curious about my solo rating, in which i went 7-3 in my calibration matches and only had 2 games where i didn't play well (Negative K/d, underleveld, etc)
3. If you were to look at my ranked matches, i do play support roughly 80% of the time, if not more (As most people arn't very good at actually supporting)
4. This is my one and only dota2 account
5. Why be a dick on forums?
6. Thank you Kaisle for actually taking a minute to look at my info, etc.
No one knows what to tell you unless we watch a replay which is Relentless job. All I can say is, you are where you belong unless you start owning those 28-29k level players.

I'm relatively new to dota2, can someone shed some light on why I have such a low mmr

Any insight would be appreciated
