Playing dota 2 as Swedes in Urakaine the heart of Mother Russia. In a room full of yelling russians. How can Alliance compete with that if they aren't in sound reducing rooms/containers. Like SC2/TI3 games? Also having russian bias comentator who basically on the loudspeaker on top of that?

Ukraininas are not gonna like your post lol. They (in my expirience) hate being called russians.

And yeah, I absolutely agree with you on the issue. Na'Vi will always have an upperhand on starladder lan.

It's the same in Dreamhack though. (If I dont remember wrong)

You can't say they lost the games due to this issue. They didn't look very stable in the finals and had questionable drafts.

Dreamhack wasn't as bad as Starladder. The swedes had respect for other countries. While they like SCREAMED when navi went 2-12 multiple times vs. Alliance & Sigma in semi-finals.

Well, I have been there in the Cyber Arena Kiev for the StarLadder 8 Finals. Even though the crowd was strongly in favour of Na'Vi (which is completely understandable) I was unexpectedly pleased to listen to the caster in Russian - "v1lat". Not only did he constantly remind the crowd to cheer for the Alliance as much as they cheer for Na'Vi, he was also very negative during the "Gem! Gem! Gem!" incident, shushing the crowd, not to give away information.

Moreover, even though the crowd was mostly supporting Na'Vi, the people inside the Arena (the entrance was 100 UAH - roughly 13$ (quite a lot for your typical schoolkid - the country is somewhat inexpensive to live in)) were well mannered and generally nice. They didn't try to intimidate the opponents. If anything they were there to watch beautiful dota as much as they were there to support their favourite team.

The problem of soundproofing is a recurring issue, but all-in-all, apart from one incident and subjective influence of the crowd, the teams were in a more or less even conditions. And I strongly believe that at this level of play the teams can not be influenced by the crowd a lot.
