3.2k MMR... every captain's draft they first pick CM... I know she got buff and her winrate went from 45% to 50%. But seriously her team value drops off after 30 minutes and becomes a liability. JW what you guys think?

    45-50% on datdota.com i think
    50-54% on dotabuff.com

Crystal maiden win rate is 54.5% and has been so since the first day of 6.79 .
Are you seriously taking win rate in pro matches for 3.2k Caps' mode? 3.2k CM is like 3.3k All pick. and Crystal maiden is nearly perfect pick for those matches.

Not really been losing like the majority of my matches when my team picks it.

CM isn't a bad hero. What's bad is the tier you're playing in. Make your way up to 4.5k, you'll start playing more decent games.

In a limited environment of a Captain's Draft mode, going for the Crystal Maiden is very smart. Apart from being a very good support with global presence, she is also capable of Jungling, which allows for more versatility - something that can not be disregarded with a limited hero pool.

In a lane she can be a very aggressive support, dishing out a lot of damage herself, as well as allowing for more autoattacks to be dealt to the enemy.

She is also an excellent roamer - you leaving the lane might mean that you are a) Jungling b) Roaming.

In first case, you not being in lane will still make other enemy lanes play a lot more carefully - sometimes missing several last hits to stay safe. Especially crucial for Mid lane heroes without a reliable escape mechanism such as Invoker. And all that advantage while you are simply getting XP and Gold in your own Jungle!!

If you are roaming, once again, the opponent will notice you not being in lane, that will result in the playing defensively and carefully. BUT, if for some reason at some point they will get annoyed missing last hits just because of a possible threat coming from Crystal Maiden (usually a minute or two for pubs), you can finalise on them making a mistake netting your team a kill or at least harassing the opponent out of lane.

Crystal Maiden is a Really good support with high versatility and a lot of burst damage. If played correctly, she retains her viability till the later stages of the game - with a BkB/Force Staff/Blink Dagger she is actually capable of decent initiation (one enemy disable, others slowed) and/or dishing TONS of damage - location, location, location.

At low 3.2k now... Wow first time playing a game with enemies not buying regen, didn't expect this from all range team. Drow went mid vs. our bara, no regen. Luna went iron shield no regen vs. me (lich) & rhasta.

CM is a top teir hero. Unless there's a crucial off lane or mid hero I don't see any issues first picking her. I love first picking support heros, it's usually much easier to fill in carries after supports. I'd probably pick veno, shadow shaman or dazzle ahead of her, but she's up there. Of course i'd pick bristle and death prophet before any of those (but they always get banned these days), and possibly weaver if planning on doing any sort of solo off lane.

cm has never been a top tier hero plz stfu it was only picked more often because lgd.int changed the meta around her with midas and jungling

CM is great at early gank. at lv3 she can leave lane and gank mid and start roaming the map , for warding, rune control, ganking and supporting.

at 3.2k MMR ... nah. few player at that level like to play roaming . laning phase is 5-10 min longer. warding/dewarding and rune control are less appreciated. you need certain level of map awareness to play cm. though passive cm is also great but not that great.

often times the gank is 1 trade 1 and cm dies, which good to trade cm for some mid or carry. but mid-level cm players jsut don't like the idea of that.

CM is great for letting your team dominate the early-mid game, everyone with mana regen allows other lanes to spam abilities and win their lane, while cm alone has a nice disable and good slow. You need to punish their carry and anyone who can get a bkb early, so during those crucial fights cm's ulti does insane damage. Games that go past 40 minutes though, unless cm got a midas she wont be having any items, maybe a bkb or something but by then the enemies should have also picked up one, and she isnt that useful other than for her disable/slow for solo-killing enemies.

In captain's draft, there could be other dynamics at play other than pure theory about how good a hero is. For example, maybe your draft had very few supports in it and a bunch of carries. The scarce support heroes then become very important first picks.

Take it at face value, but in CD... CM has 17.73% pick rate, making her the 3rd most played.

In CM, CM is picked 38.98%, making her the most played hero.
