Just because someone is wierd, querky or gay doesn't mean they have to win a show. I think people are just too terrified of refusing them for fear that the activist will claim they are all a bunch of sexist, racists.
His song was one of the best this year, since when's a music "contest" judged by the damn looks? A lot of people got serious issues.
Russian twins were much better, but they only took seventh place.

The point with this " competition " is that , it is kinda ruined for the last ast year.
Even thought i am really openly minded guy ( i don't hate homophobic people or i don't discriminate , even thought i live in a country , where if you don't this things, you are not a " patriot " or everybody points on you, for being different ), but this was too much.
I do agree, song was nice, but for the sake of humanity, women with beard? ( even i can't grow bear, and i am sad about that, then i see a WOMEN who has bigger beard then me ).
As Havoc said, imagine she didn't won or did good. A lot of movemants ( namely, at first place, feminism and particulary LGBT ), would rain their shit on others, saying how world is fucked up, that people can't be their truly themself, or whatever they want to be.
Seems that you need to be different for people to notice you. That is good, but atleast, she/he could trim her/his beard. There were also a lot kids watching this show ( or whatever you want to call it ), so they could get a wrong perspective about it.

Yeah, gays have more rights than people with normal sexuality. What if we rain our shit on gays? Lets say: this song not won because it's not gay. =)

@Soultrap the problem with gay population, is that they stick to each other in a form we , hetero people can't imagine. I know a girl who is lesbian, and you can't imagine the things they do to each other ( and i don't mean that :P ). The world will just never get that Gay lobby is most powerful organization in this world
